Tue, 13 Apr 2021

GSG once again had the distinct pleasure of being support for the 2021 Variety Creative Car Cruise

Congratulations Cruisers, you completed the 10th Anniversary Back to the Future Variety Creative Car Cruise and raised an amazing amount for WA kids in need.

$160,000 NET - Raised for Kids who are sick, disadvantaged or living with disability

Information from the Variety website -
DAY 1 Atwell Primary School - Fairbridge Village

It was a bright and early start at Atwell Primary School with 28 Creative Cars, 86 participants and officials. After announcing our Hi-5 Fundraisers we hit the road, with our first stop at Pie Face funstop in Jarrahdale. We then cruised by Dwellingup Hotel for lunch and it's safe to say those empty stomachs were satisfied. Finishing off the day relaxing with some drinks by the pool at Fairbridge before hitting the dance floor thanks to Gaffa.

DAY 2 Fairbridge Village - Busselton

Thanks to Kylee, Hop, Georgia and John for organising a terrific breakfast to start the day off right! The Mad Max costumes kept us and the locals entertained during the day. We visited West Busselton Primary School after lunch to present a grant of $2,226 for a Movement Maze, an interactive play sticker set designed to encourage and support teachers to facilitate regular, repetitive and rhythmical movement for students which not only supports physical but also emotional and mental development.

We all had a good laugh as our knowledge was tested at the Mad Max Quiz Night and it was great to see everyone getting involved!

DAY 3 Busselton - Karri Valley

First stop was breakfast in Busselton thanks to the Rotary Club of Busselton Geographe Bay. A relaxing drive through to Margaret River for a coffee and a bit of shopping before cruising to Anthony Copeland's farm - a long time Variety supporter. We were entertained by The Feckorators all for the kids and the craic with Louise and Von on vocals, Terence, Ben and Daryl on guitar. L Plater's were blessed by nun Begs and welcomed to the Variety CCC family.

A special final night at Karri Valley celebrating the 10th Anniversary - congratulations to all of our award winners. Once again, The Sheds didn't disappoint as we danced the night away.

DAY 4 Karri Valley - Collie

With a blink of an eye we are on the final day of the 2021 Variety Creative Car Cruise, a long time coming but one we felt so privileged to be able to participate in. We cruised through the beautiful Karri trees leaving Karri Valley before finishing at Collie Motorplex where we were welcomed by friends and family. Lunch and Hi-5 presentations saw the event come to an end before we said our goodbyes and made our journey home.

Thank you to all of our Cruisers, Officials, Mobile Workshops, Volunteers and Sponsors - the Creative Car Cruise would not happen without you.

You will receive in the coming days a survey, we would love to hear your feedback about the event. We look forward to sharing the photo gallery with you shortly.

We hope to see you all back in 2022 and look forward to announcing the full route later in the year.
